Riley’s got a new look!
I liked the gray stock I had that originally came with my Ruger 10/22 but the reason I got such a neutral color and not a stock that wasn’t stupid expensive was so I wouldn’t have to worry about how much I’d have to spend to replace it.
Recently when ordering parts for my new AR I became very attracted to the FDE (Flat Dark Earth) parts I saw. It only seemed right to get an FDE stock for Riley. I knew my husband was putting in the order for a new stock but I didn’t actually see it until it arrived at my doorstep. It was definitely a nice surprise.
I have to say the Magpul Hunter X-22 is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Putting it together wasn’t too bad either, the only thing different now is that there’s no band holding the barrel down. I wasn’t sure about this because on my other stock it’s a necessity. Fortunately enough, I don’t know if it’s designed this way on purpose or not, but the barrel fits so snug into the frame that the band wouldn’t do anything for it anyway; even if it did fit over barrel and stock.
There’s not much else to report on as far as taking it to the range. Of course the .22 will shoot the same: without recoil. But I will say that the stock is really comfortable.
